Planned Giving
Life-Saving Impact
Naming Open Doors as a beneficiary in your will or trust is a simple way to provide a home and personal support for valuable children and adults in our community. Other planned gifts may involve retirement plan assets, life insurance, and appreciated stock.
If you intend to make a planned gift, please share that with us by calling our Executive Director Stephanie Hoffman at 269-343-6064, extension 401.
In-kind Gifts
We accept good used cars. We pass them on directly to one of our residents who needs a car to get to work.
We are not able to accept used furniture or clothing because we have nowhere to store them. We recommend giving such items to the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference, NuWay Thrift Store, or Goodwill of Southwest Michigan.
Advocacy
So many local adults and children need places to live. Our community needs much more affordable housing. As a result, we take seriously the need to advocate for more affordable housing in Kalamazoo County, the state of Michigan, and across the United States. If you would like to help with our advocacy efforts please contact our Executive Director Stephanie Hoffman at 269-343-6064, extension 401.
